Mike’s sound is deeply rooted in the legendary tone-smiths of the classic rock era. With a style shaped by the melodic phrasing of Eric Clapton and the expansive, atmospheric textures of Pink Floyd, he brings a versatile edge to the band. His technical foundation draws heavily from the session-work mastery of Steve Lukather and the heavy, driving riffs of Led Zeppelin, while his slide and lead work carry the soulful, modern-blues influence of Derek Trucks.

"Origin Story"

Mike’s musical journey began at age seven with the piano, though the rigid structure of early lessons didn't quite suit his spirit. After stepping away from the keys, it wasn't until he was nineteen that he truly realized what he had been missing. He picked up the guitar, and it was an immediate, lifelong connection. While life’s demands took him off the stage for a couple of decades, he returned to the instrument with renewed vigor over a dozen years ago. Today, that passion is stronger than ever—a dedicated pursuit that he knows will be by his side for the rest of his life.

Over the course of a 40-year musical career, Mike has embraced the challenge of adapting to many different environments. From intimate folk settings to high-energy rock, blues, and pop stages, he has thrived in every genre he has explored. His time spent writing and performing original music has further honed his craft. Among his most cherished musical memories are the weekly open jams in Hopewell. These sessions served as a melting pot of talent, offering the chance to share the stage with a vast array of musicians. Many nights left Mike standing open-mouthed, simply in awe of the incredible artistry passing through the room. It was a formative experience—equal parts humbling and exhilarating—that deeply shaped his appreciation for the craft.

Mike is a firm believer in using the right tool for the job. He keeps a rotation of guitars on hand, though his Fender Telecaster currently holds the top spot as his favorite. To bridge the gap between his influences and his live output, he relies on the Line 6 Helix Floor.
